Graduate Research Assistantship (RA) positions in my group are available to only “highly qualified” PhD pursuing graduate students in mechanical engineering (or other related disciplines including material science/engineering, applied physics, physical chemistry, biomedical, or chemical eng., etc.) who have strong background and interest in advanced materials processes/characterization in connection with soft-robotics, mechatronics, and/or thermal sciences/engineering.
To qualify for the Research Assistantships, the applicants MUST have the following backgrounds and/or requirements:
- “Creative” and “Dedicated” research interests in the general areas of “active materials/sensors” or “thermal sciences/engineering”;
- “Meaningful” industrial or laboratory experiences; and
- Proven or potential capability of writing scientific papers in English as well as of effectively presenting the research work.
- GPA Requirement:Overall GPA > 3.75/4.0 or graduated with top 5% of the class
