Prof. Kim and NSF PIRE students went to a field trip to S. Korea to collaborate with researchers from KAIST (Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). The goal of this collaborative international research project is to create advanced multifunctional Artificial Muscles (AMs) based on the unique properties of Ionic Polymer-Metal Composites (IPMCs) for soft robotics.
